I loved the romance and the suspense surrounding this investigation. The ending was exciting, as always, and Honor was particularly impressive. Finding the connections was problematic and the realities inside the commune were hideous. The case was unusual in that it focused on a delusional and dangerous cult leader, unknown to anyone. Theirs was a mature relationship and neither shied away from being honest and forthright about their feelings.no silly, drawn out drama.just two people struggling to cope and communicate while on the job. I loved these two characters and how they dealt with each other when they were forced to reconnect. They're thrown together for the mission and both are struggling with their unresolved feelings. In the last book, Fer, as Lady of the Summerlands made the other Lords and Ladies of the realm vow to rule without the aid of the glamorie. This was a wonderfully magical middle grade fantasy about family, friendship, and staying true to what you think is right. This is the third and final book in the Winterling trilogy. Stand Alone or Series: 3rd book in the Winterling trilogy The movie is sympathetic and well-meaning but also honest. The story takes a delicate and earnest look at teen mental health, grief, and suicide through the unlikely friendship/romance of two young people in very difficult places. It’s directed by Brett Haley from a screenplay written by Niven and Liz Hannah. The movie is an adaptation of Jennifer Niven’s 2015 young adult novel. Too often they mimic other movies or follow all-too-familiar formulas. The new Netflix original “All the Bright Places” does a little of both. But at its heart lies a thoughtful story about the teen experience that deals with weighty issues and has the guts to stick with its convictions. Teen dramas are a dime a dozen and finding a fresh one out of the enormous batch isn’t always an easy thing. Will they finally be able to be happily, officially, together?Ĭelebrate the tenth anniversary of Tahereh Mafi's bestselling Shatter Me series with Believe Me!Īt long last, Warner and Juliette’s future together is within reach, but the world continues to try to pull them apart. Set in a beautifully wrought fantasy world, A Taste of Gold and Iron tells the story of Prince Kadou, who is disgraced after an incident. I kind of picked up this book on a lark at the library a few weeks ago and absolutely devoured it. In Arasht, where princes can touch-taste precious metals with their fingers and myth runs side by side with history, counterfeiting is heresy, and the conspiracy they discover could cripple the kingdom’s financial standing and bring about its ruin. To prove his loyalty to the queen, his sister, Kadou takes responsibility for the investigation of a break-in at one of their guilds, with the help of his newly appointed bodyguard, the coldly handsome Evemer, who seems to tolerate him at best. Kadou, the shy prince of Arasht, finds himself at odds with one of the most powerful ambassadors at court-the body-father of the queen’s new child-in an altercation which results in his humiliation. The Goblin Emperor meets “Magnificent Century” in Alexandra Rowland’s A Taste of Gold and Iron, where a queer central romance unfolds in a fantasy world reminiscent of the Ottoman Empire. Oh, and did I forget to mention that her stories are pretty *coughREALLYcough* kickass and swoon-worthy as well? This final full-length novel is the one so many have been antsy for, so why shouldn't I want to read the ebook, too? But for those of you who aren't familiar with Helena Hunting or her Pucked romantic comedy slash hockey romance series, let me explain my perceived fangirl madness this way: Hunting is the reigning queen of hockey romances that leave you laughing at the antics, lusting over the players, and loving the feisty females. Well, my love for #DarLene knows no bounds, and if you knew the awesomeness that is their story, then you'll get why I simply needed to get my greedy hands on the ebook edition and read it as well. Some people may find it strange that someone like me who pre-ordered and listened to this title as an audiobook would feel the need to read it in its ebook form. I want this with you, and I don't care if it's messy and fucked up and no one understands it but us." Everything else in that head of yours is white noise. I know this whole thing scares you, but understand this Charlene, I love you. Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR. |
